What evaluations of our programmes have found

Teenage students in a classroom

8 October 2026 · 1 min read

AYI Uganda’s interventions have been evaluated. The evaluations record changes in what young people know, what they do and how they are heard.

Health

Adolescents’ information levels went up, and so did health-seeking behaviour, especially around contraceptive use, safe sex and access to rights. Misinformation and myths about sexual and reproductive health went down, and so did the stigma around seeking mental health support.

Policy

Our policy dialogue and engagement programmes have made sure young people’s voices are included in the development and implementation of policies and programmes.

Across the programmes

Young people have more information, better access to health services and more ability to advocate with families, communities and policy makers for their rights on health, well-being and the prevention of gender-based violence.
